Pregnancy Week 12

Okay so actually I'm 12+3 days but I was busy and didn't have enough time to find someone to spray paint my "chalkboard" (I'll explain why that is in quotations..) so I'm posting my week 12 update today.

I know it looks kind of lame... I was anxious to get it done so the writing isn't as fancy as I would have liked and there aren't really enough decorations on it but it got the job done (:
When I got home I tweaked it a little bit...
This is a little more fancy. I guess.

  • How far along?: 12 weeks!
  • Milestones: Baby Clark is developing reflexes and the placenta has fully developed.
  • Baby is the size of a: l i m e
  • Total weight gain/loss: none
  • The Bump: I'm thinking its bloat. My stomach was never really flat but its certainly protruding a little bit. I'd like to say it's a bump. Sadly, I think it's bloat.
  • Symptoms: exhaustion...is that a symptom? acne and bloat
  • Food Cravings:My cravings are very sporadic. Just a few days ago I really wanted a corn dog and crab legs. Sometimes I really really want gushers.
  • Anything Making Me Queasy or Sick: Kendall's driving..seriously every time I'm in his car and he's driving I feel sick.
  • Sleep: I sleep through the night, but once I wake up for any reason...I'm half asleep for the rest of the night.
  • What I miss: Angry orchards haaa
  • Weddings Rings On or Off: On
  • Any Names Picked Out Yet: Yep!
  • Gender: Don't know
  • Movement: Besides what I've seen on a monitor nothing.
  • Maternity Clothes: I have a pair of jeans and a top
  • Labor Signs: N/A
  • Best Moment of the Week: going to BINGO with my sister for her 18th birthday (:
  • What I’m excited about/looking forward to:  I have an ultrascreen test on Thursday. Just another excuse to see baby!
Okay now to discuss my chalkboard. I really wanted to do a chalkboard tracker. However, buying a new chalkboard and at the size I wanted one was going to be expensive. My first idea was to go to the thrift store find some big painting and spray paint over it. But with the local lack of thrift stores that was actually more difficult than it was worth.
SO! I headed into Walmart, picked up a trifold poster and chalkboard spray paint. I cut the two sides off the trifold and painted the middle. Total cost of my "chalkboard?" 7 bucks. It's that easy folks.

Until next time.

Happy Valentines Day!

Well I just wanted to post the Valentines Day care package that I sent to my husband. I wanted to wait until he had it before I posted about it on here ( :
Firstly, unless you are newly in a military relationship you already know that when it comes to the packages..getting the large flat rate box is your best bet.
I had went to Target & scoured the dollar spot there and pick up some scrap booking paper and conversation heart stickers. I knew I would use these solely for decorating purposes so I covered the walls on the inside of the box.

On one of the plain red sides I covered it in the conversation hearts. In my package of hearts there were ones that said "text me" but I omitted those since, well, he can't.

When choosing what to put in your box always make sure it not only reflects you, but also your relationship and your significant other! Inside of my box was:

  1. a teddy bear holding a heart that says "yours"
  2. blank cards- that I wrote on- 7 of them
  3. chocolate covered fortune cookies
  4. an R2D2 box with chocolates
  5. hershey kisses
  6. some Frisches Big Boy valentines (its our favorite place)
  7. like 26 fruit roll ups
  8. a frog stuffed animal

"Happy Valentines Day Baby!"

This is without the fruit roll ups & his other animal!

"Come home! Missing you LIKE CRAZY!"

"Hey Stud...CAUTION YOU'RE HOT!"

I think my first care package was a success. So tomorrow I am going to dinner and a movie with my little brother for Valentines Day. I've never really been like a crazy person about Valentines Day. I don't know, to me it just feels like another day that is inching by throughout this deployment. Bleh. Well I hope everyone eats lots of chocolate and has a fabulous Valentines Day!

DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater

I have to share the ugly Christmas sweaters that my best friend and I made for a party.

THE STORY:
While sitting at dinner my best friend and I were talking about what we were going to wear to an ugly Christmas sweater party. Erin says "I wish I could somehow say that I am the ugly sweater." I replied "Just put an ugly picture of you on the sweater!" Thus our magnificent Christmas idea was born.

We scoured Goodwill and found two red oversized sweaters, and a few matching ornaments as well as some wreaths.

We printed out some very gorgeous pictures of ourselves and duct taped them onto the front and back of the sweaters. We glued the other ornaments on and hung some off of the sweaters.

We pinned the wreaths in our hair and had an ugly picture of the both of us on the back of our sweaters.

We had a great time and even though some of the stuff fell off of our sweaters we still looked adorable. This was extremely fun and different from every other sweater at the party!
