DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater

I have to share the ugly Christmas sweaters that my best friend and I made for a party.

THE STORY:
While sitting at dinner my best friend and I were talking about what we were going to wear to an ugly Christmas sweater party. Erin says "I wish I could somehow say that I am the ugly sweater." I replied "Just put an ugly picture of you on the sweater!" Thus our magnificent Christmas idea was born.

We scoured Goodwill and found two red oversized sweaters, and a few matching ornaments as well as some wreaths.

We printed out some very gorgeous pictures of ourselves and duct taped them onto the front and back of the sweaters. We glued the other ornaments on and hung some off of the sweaters.

We pinned the wreaths in our hair and had an ugly picture of the both of us on the back of our sweaters.

We had a great time and even though some of the stuff fell off of our sweaters we still looked adorable. This was extremely fun and different from every other sweater at the party!

Our weekend

Over the weekend hubs and I had his battalion ball! Over the summer I had gotten a dress from a local dress stores sidewalk sale for 69.00! It was a steal and I tucked it away especially for the ball. It's odd to think that I had thought Kendall was going to propose at the ball, when little did I know we'd already be married! I had an old friend do my hair. It was just a bunch of curls pinned up. Originally we had left some of the curls dangling down, but I eventually pinned those up as well. I probably won't get my hair done for the next ball. I felt a little silly with my hair all done up. I felt slightly awkward because I didn't know a lot of people at the ball but I met some and had a blast with Kendall.
We had some fun taking goofy pictures on the ride home...

Our car still says "just married" on the back... haha

For veterans day we were going to go to Applebee's so he could get a free meal but opted out when we found out how long the wait was. We decided to go to our favorite place instead.. Frisch's Big Boy! Kendall got a cheeseburger like he always gets and I also got a cheeseburger. I had sweet potato fries, him regular. We both also got the salad bar and shared a hot fudge cake. Mmmm. Kendall was still in his ACUs from the day. Our waitress brought over our check and informed us that someone had paid for our meal!
We have no idea who the Good Samaritan was. An older couple stopped by our table before they left and thanked Kendall for his service and the woman looked at me and said "I also want to thank you." I just smiled, but I really wanted to tell her that I don't do anything! I haven't and most likely won't risk my life for my country! All I do is love a soldier, and that's not hard.

How was your weekend?

Weekend plans

Okay! I have dance class today (if I end up going) and my communication disorders class. THEN! I'm heading home to decorate my aunt and uncles beautiful home which is where the wedding will be! We are having a small rehearsal then I am going out for my "bachelorette party" with my mother and my two best friends to a karaoke bar! What could be better!?

Sunday you will have lots of photos of the wedding to gawk at. I'm glad that we are deciding to have two weddings. I like that the people I hold closest will be joining me today. I like that Kendall and I will be in jeans and there is no pressure. I'm happy that we are doing both, the big over the top wedding, as well as a small intimate ceremony.

I'm just excited to be marrying my very best friend. I can't wait until we are waking up to each other this morning and never miss an episode of The Walking Dead on Sunday nights. He is everything I could ever want. I just know this is right.

Well, happy Friday everyone! What are your weekend plans?

( to get you in a romantic mood.. this is the amazing song I'm walking down the aisle to! )
